Walking through Anand Vihar on a wedding day, you can feel the energy of large Punjabi, Hindu, and NRI families all under one roof. Over the years, we've discovered that East Delhi weddings are vibrant, multi-day celebrations filled with music, dance, and warm chaos. Indian grooms lead baraats through the city streets on horseback; we know exactly where Delhi's notorious traffic will slow us down and how to time the shot when the groom arrives. Most ceremonies in Anand Vihar area halls and farms take place late into the night (venues often close around midnight or 2 AM) as families socialize over rituals. Teen cousins dash across banquet halls, and grandparents wave heartfelt goodbyes as the couple exits the stage; these are the genuine moments we want to capture. The crowds here tend to gather in large venues around Anand Vihar, ranging from intimate 50-guest halls to grand spaces for 1000+ guests, making it an art form to manage everyone. We lead groups for smiling photos by the stage, but we also sneak away to photograph the father wiping away tears as he sees his daughter as a bride. The baraat at a Delhi wedding can look like this: a rowdy group of brothers and friends in colourful turbans posing casually on a terrace. In Anand Vihar weddings, the groom's side frequently gathers like this for informal group photos while waiting for the procession to begin. We see this candid tradition all the time: deep laugh lines, bright shawls, and a little swagger among the men. We treasure scenes like these, where the mood is upbeat and everyone is at ease, because they capture the local flavor of the celebration. (Later, when the groom enters, our team takes note of the warm, ambient light and any tricky LED effects that may appear on their faces.)
Instead of generic lists, we talk about what you’ll actually feel on your wedding day with us. On the wedding day, you’ll notice we arrive bright and early, with extra time in case makeup runs late. We hang back during the Pheras, blending into the crowd so your nerves settle, then move in for close-ups only when your arms brush each other. At Anand Vihar halls, as haldi or mehndi color flies, we shield our cameras and focus on getting portraits of the bride grinning and her siblings playfully sneaking up to smear her. For cinematic wedding films, we become part of the scene: our cameraman might quietly crouch by the stage’s footlights while your family performs a dance, and your friends might not realize they’re in the shot until they see the fun video later. We love capturing the ambient DJ light show at night — it’s raw, unplanned energy. We deliver a highlight film (usually 5–7 minutes, though at request we’ve made 10+ minute cuts) that feels like a chapter of your story, with music cues that felt perfect at that moment (a bhangra tune as you cut the cake, for instance). Pre-wedding and engagement shoots with us are relaxed outings. If you say you’re comfortable in a park or at a landmark near Kaushambi, we’ll plan a morning shoot there and chat as if just out for a walk. If you prefer an urban vibe, we’ll find graffiti walls or markets in East Delhi. We advise on outfits (solid colours often pop well with Delhi backdrops) and suggest bringing a few options. One Anand Vihar couple wanted “Delhi street casual”—so we did an evening shoot in the Preet Vihar market, skating around under yellow streetlamps. The result felt candid and real, not staged.
Bridal portraits are treated with reverence. In the quiet 15 minutes after you’ve put on your heavy lehenga but before the main ceremony, we pull you aside to that one window with soft light and coach little poses that feel like you’re just hugging your husband—often those personal, laughing shots become favorites. For destination weddings, say in Manali or Jaipur, we travel with minimal fuss, scouting local vantage points at sunrise (because we learned cold dawn in Himachal can feel quicker than Delhi traffic). And if you and your guests are NRI or out-of-town, we make it easy by handling any permits, hotel co-ordination, and suggestions on local vendors.
We deliver your images as luxury albums and digital galleries. Each album is previewed by you, and its design matches your wedding’s feel—earthy Punjabi or Hindu textures or modern city chic. We guarantee sharp images (never grainy) by using full-frame cameras and pro lighting. All edits aim for consistency: if your red silk gown has a cherry hue in one photo, it’s cherry in the next—editing is our subtle art. Most of our Anand Vihar couples receive a sneak peek slideshow the next week and full galleries in 2–3 weeks.
In our experience, couples around Anand Vihar blend big Punjabi and Hindu exuberance with modern touches. You’ll still see sacred morning rituals in a temple or at home (mandaps under decorated arches), followed by later evening receptions in the hall. Many Anand Vihar families come from Punjabi or Hindu backgrounds, followed by lively bhangra and bhangra music as soon as the groom’s baraat arrives. Girls and women often wear bright maroon and gold lehengas (as in traditional Delhi-Punjabi and Hindu style) and red chooda bangles, and young boys might playfully tease them or chase a stray shoe. We remember one Anand Vihar wedding where a child ran onto the stage chasing balloons mid-ceremony; instead of scolding, we quietly captured the bride gently calling the boy back—these human moments make the story.
Venues around Anand Vihar tend to be hotels rather than open lawns. Due to city density, most weddings happen in hotels. Even so, we find few oasis moments—a courtyard under a tree for quick portraits or a sunlit staircase inside an old haveli-turned-banquet. Family involvement is high: grandmas hug the bride’s dupatta anxiously, uncles tell jokes to get laughs out of the bride, and someone’s aunt inevitably fixes the groom’s turban when it’s become crooked. We keep our ears open and cameras ready; it’s real life, not a movie, so those little unplanned acts of love are our favorite candids.
Our team is known for being calm and composed. We’ve seen the bridal room drama, so we respect it quietly—no loud commands or entourage walking through. We talk softly with parents, so even an emotional father feels heard. For every wedding, we walk in with a plan, but we adapt instantly: if the best light moves, we move. If the groom’s procession took a shortcut, we follow without fuss. In Anand Vihar’s busy hotels, such professionalism instils confidence.
We shoot so you barely notice us. Once, a groom thanked us for “invisible” shooting after the fact, saying the photos looked so natural. That’s our goal: no one should feel like they’re under a microscope, but the memories are crystal clear. During editing, we keep colors true—warm skin tones, vibrant sarees, and the exact shade of the groom’s pagri—because nothing undermines authenticity like an orange filter that no one saw in real life. Couples here are usually anxious to see photos (especially if family are waiting abroad), so we coordinate accelerated timelines when needed.
We work professionally under pressure. When the venue changes or the weather throws us a curveball, we already have Plans B, C, and even D up our sleeve. A foggy November Gurudwara wedding or Hindu traditional wedding near Kaushambi with delayed flights, but we shot outdoors with portable LED panels; the ritual was the focus, not the tech behind it. Always, we speak to all families in a kindly manner: our wide smiles and respectful check-ins have been mentioned in thank-you notes more than once.
We treat every wedding as unique. When a bride or groom is nervous, we have a few tricks: for example, talking about favorite songs or reminding them of a joke their sibling made earlier helps the tension melt. At one Anand Vihar wedding, the bride was anxious about posing for rings – we actually grabbed a toddler from the family and had him play “ring tag” with the couple, turning it into a cute little game (the resulting photos of the couple laughing are among our favorites). We have a calm team ethos: if one bride sees tears, another cries too, so we quietly ensure someone steps aside to comfort her, letting the others celebrate. Large Punjabi and Hindu families come with strong opinions, but we maintain a gentle presence, always listening first. Once, during a silver-anniversary segment, a grandfather was too shy to face the camera; we simply chatted with him off to the side until he naturally smiled for a candid moment.
A candid and formal mix is key. We’ll gently herd the entire Baraat into a formation for a sweeping entrance shot, but we balance that by hiding behind the curtains to catch unexpected moments—like when a bride’s cousin dances impromptu while no one’s looking. Timelines rarely go exactly as planned: we’ve had baraats stuck in traffic or the bride running late from makeup, and instead of panic, we take a breather and snap portraits of the floral decor. Once at a Surajmal Vihar farm wedding, makeup ran an hour late; we used the time to stage a “first-look” with light flashes in the courtyard at dusk. The couple forgot about the delay and ended up loving those golden-hour portraits.
We also know how to shoot quietly. Families here feel deeply, often openly hugging or laughing hard. In those emotional peaks – father’s first look at his daughter, mother’s pinch on the cheek of the new bride – our shooters move in slowly and press the shutter gently, capturing tears or whispers without being obtrusive.
We’ve shot many Anand Vihar weddings at Radisson Blu Kaushambi, a spacious hotel just beyond the border (about 10 minutes from Preet Vihar). Its six elegant ballrooms can handle massive celebrations (up to 3,000 guests). The high ceilings and neutral decor make for grand group photos — but the multiple levels (basement, ground, rooftop pool deck) mean we plan carefully for each shoot. Portraits often happen in the lobby or poolside garden; one winter we loved the green lawn by the pool at dusk for a soft couple portrait. Importantly, Radisson Blu provides a special separate entrance for the baraat, so the groom’s procession can parade in without merging with valet parking traffic. We use that: the groom arriving under twirling sparklers always looks cinematic. On the main stage, heavy LED panels cast cool light, so indoors we tend to wait for softer moments — for example, we once switched to 85mm to catch the couple’s faces under table lamps during the party. Overall, Radisson Kaushambi is forgiving with light (lots of lamps and natural daylight in afternoons) but very bright, saturated colors everywhere. We calm any nervous couples by showing them the spacious lobby or having them twirl on the lush dance floor during a quiet moment. Timing for couple’s portraits can be golden hour by the pool (around 6 PM) or even after the reception has quieted down around 11 PM when the cleaning lights come on – in those late shots, the family is still around for some classic group goodbyes.
Clarks Inn at the Pacific Mall has become a favorite for indoor-outdoor flexibility. Their rooftop lawn (called The Lagoon) gives couples a chance for outdoor portraits at sunset, then everyone moves inside as it gets dark. We recommend doing portraits before dinner here, when the sky is still clear. Indoors, the banquet is warm-toned with cream walls, but it has smaller windows so by 9 PM it’s very low light. We usually set up a small flash here for evening portrait shots (many couples stand on the white marble dance floor for some fun poses between curries). The main stage has two crystal chandeliers, which create beautiful specular highlights on the bride’s lehenga, but the DJ’s colored beams from the corners can wash over the stage unpredictably. So we often instruct families: “When the bride makes her entry, try to pause the flashing lights momentarily,” or just bracket exposures to ensure we capture her expression. The entrance photo-op is also nice here: Clarks has a big wooden door at the lobby, and the groom often walks through it on horseback – making for that classic “step-in” shot. Crowd control is straightforward: there’s a wide foyer where we gather everyone quickly for family shots as soon as the groom arrives, before things move inside. (Just watch out for the open ATM near the entrance – we learned to steer the chai-cups away in camera frames!)
Orchid Grand is a must for Anand Vihar weddings with mid to large crowds (it sits about 500). It’s got a grand but neutral décor – cream walls and red carpeting – giving the photographers licence to experiment with off-camera flash to style the scene. The outer courtyard (with the stone arch) is a lovely location for a couple’s portrait in late afternoon with warm sunlight filtering through the trees. We call for couples for “10 minutes outside” right after the haldi ritual, while the groom is still getting ready, and that’s where the magic often happens. The stage inside is huge, often decorated with marigolds and hanging florals. We learned that during the pheras the temple lights above are mostly yellow and the stage lights bluer, so we set white balance on the warmer side to get the bride’s red and gold lehenga right. The aisle on the stage is a real bonus and we use it to our advantage by zooming in to an 85mm to get the bride’s anklet close-ups or the groom adjusting his sehra (which he does right there on the step). Access is good, but when the doors open to the parking lot there can be harsh sunlight coming in, we sometimes have to hold a diffuser over the bride as she walks out just to avoid blown out spots.
This lush farmhouse in Indirapuram feels worlds away from the city – until you remember you’re a half hour from Anand Vihar on overcrowded roads. Panchwati Farms has verdant gardens and an open amphitheater, so it’s ideal for day-time ceremonies and twilight portraits. During sangeet or mehndi outdoors, we like to position the couple on a flower-draped swing under the banyan tree (when it’s there) and shoot from below. The winter sun sets early, so golden hour photos at Panchwati usually happen around 4 PM. We once did a pre-wedding shoot there at 4:30 PM and the light was just perfect on the green lawn. After sundown, lights from the stage and fairylights create a romantic glow, but then our cameras often struggle – we pull out the best 1.2 lenses to keep portraits sharp under string-light bokeh. Groom entries here are memorable: we’ve seen family bring tractors decorated with ribbons or vintage cars; the wide farm road means there’s room for a full parade rather than squeezing between cars. Photography-wise, that means we sometimes trek a bit to catch them – one night I ran barefoot across soft ground just to get the perfect low-angle shot of a horse with groom (turns out the sand was cold!). In every shoot here, we pack extra batteries and card slots – when a farm wedding drags into late night, our job is to keep rolling through every performance and dance medley.
Hallmark is a popular hall near Karkardooma that often feels full when big Punjabi families invite all their relatives. It’s an enclosed hall with warm spotlighting, which means during the reception the band’s lights tend to be dim orange and purple. To counter this, we usually set a slightly higher ISO for candid shots (so the bride’s art-coktailed face doesn’t blur when she’s mid-twirl). The entry corner is somewhat narrow, so we sometimes step outside the hall for the couple’s entry shot (e.g. in the lobby with a flash from the side). We quickly discovered that a short 30-meter hallway next to the stage makes a great makeshift photo tunnel – the couple can stand at one end and we capture them framed by guests lining up on both sides. For portraits at Hallmark, there’s a small wooden veranda outside with climbing ivy; a quick 5-minute walk there often yields a sweeter, softer image compared to the colored halls. Always be mindful of time: at Hallmark, guests want to sit back down or hit the buffet fast, so we grab groups efficiently. One trick we use: if the main lights are too dim for a group, we ask a family member to hold a smartphone flashlight above us – even that little extra warmth helps keep the colors true.
Despite being a bit farther (near Shahdara’s Cross River Mall), La Cordiall gets booked by Delhi NCR families for its elegant foyer and accommodating staff. The interior is cream and green, and it has large potted plants that create nice frame-lines for photography. We’ve noticed it has one of the smoother dance floors – perfect for capturing the first dance without slipping. Portraits here often happen by the entrance – we use the big wooden doors and brass lanterns as a traditional archway. One year, the bride’s parents requested portraits on a nearby footbridge overlooking a small canal (actually just a city drain), so we tried that for some candid couple shots; the reflection in the water gave the photos a quirky, local vibe. Technical note: the DJ equipment here had an old-school hazer machine once that produced thick smoke; after smoke alarms went off once, we learned to turn it off before doing any tight shots. That said, on foggy nights La Cordiall’s fog mix with colored lights did create a dramatic scene, and we captured silhouettes at the altar – those aren’t for every wedding, but for bold couples it was cool. Overall, La Cordiall is one where logistics are easy: spacious dressing rooms upstairs for the bride to get ready, and a short corridor means the groom doesn’t walk too far in from the parking. We usually coordinate with the banquet manager so that when the baraat vanishes into the gates, we’re right there to shoot the “door open” moment as the groom steps in, which always thrills the groom’s side.
Do you shoot destination weddings or weddings outside Anand Vihar? Absolutely. We frequently travel for weddings across Delhi NCR (Preet Vihar,Gagan Vihar, Surajmal Vihar, Indirapuram, etc.) and even further. For nearby areas like Noida or Gurgaon, we didn't charge. But if your NRI relatives are marrying at a hill station or all over India, we can often come along (or recommend a partner photographer we trust).
Can we get both candid and family photos? Certainly. We know families here want both. Our approach is to spend about 10–15 minutes early on doing formal group shots (immediate family by the stage, large group outside, etc.), and then we circulate for candids. Later in the event, if families start gathering (for cake cutting or rituals), we pause for another round of group shots. And always we slip in between: capturing 3-generation smiles quietly before dancing resumes or a quick “pose” during the bouquet toss. We’ve coordinated big groups of 20+ relatives in crowded Anand Vihar halls without anyone feeling rushed—in fact, many couples say they barely noticed us snapping those because we just talked them through it swiftly.
How do you handle lighting and low-light situations? East Delhi halls often have warm, dim lighting after sundown. We use high-end cameras (low noise at high ISO) and sometimes discreet LED panels when needed. We’ve invested in powerful off-camera flashes that bounce nicely, so even at 1 AM we can produce a crisp photo. For example, if your dinner lighting is very yellow, we might gently pop flash or use a camera setting to keep true colors (so your blouse doesn’t look orange on the screen later). We also always carry extra batteries and chargers—last thing anyone wants is a camera dying mid-dance.
How long until we get the photos? Normally, our turnaround is 4–6 weeks for full delivery. However, if you need a faster preview (for example, to send abroad for a thank-you card or a follow-up event), we can give you a curated “teaser” in 2 weeks. The full gallery will come with all images from every camera. We find this timeline works well for most couples; by then, our editors can perfectly match colors and filter out only out-of-focus shots.
What style of editing do you use? Our editing is natural and consistent. We want the photos to look like your eyes saw them, not like an Instagram filter. Skin tones are kept true, decorations stay lively but not oversaturated. (A lot of Bollywood-style studios oversharpen or over-smooth – we avoid that.) For example, we also edit out only minor blemishes and stray threads – we celebrate real moments, like the bride’s authentic laugh or the mother’s real wrinkles of joy.
Do you work with venues in Anand Vihar? Yes, we know them well. Some venues have rules: at a few Anand Vihar halls, drones aren’t allowed or heavy tripods need permission. We handle this – for example, at Radisson Blu Kaushambi, we used their separate baraat entrance so we didn’t have to wheel equipment through the lobby. At Hallmark Banquets, the staff were very accommodating, letting us shoot from a balcony. We recommend discussing photography needs when you book your hall; tell them “our photographers shoot candidly, usually unobtrusively.” We also have a checklist of power outlets (for charging gear or lights) in each local venue, and we carry multi-socket adapters.
Can we have a short wedding film and how long would it be? Our highlight films are usually 5–7 minutes. This captures the vibe (entrances, key rituals, candid dances) in a concise way. We also offer an extended version (20–40 minutes), which is more like a documentary of the day. We’ve delivered both: one couple had us do a 6-minute trailer and a 25-minute full short film. Filming style is unobtrusive—often during a performance, we will pull back to wide shots and only move in for close-ups when there’s a pause. For example, at a Punjabi sangeet, we might stand at the back with a steadicam to catch the energy, then quietly step forward to film the bride on the stage after each dance while everyone else rests. You can share the film easily—we know many NRI guests love having a 5-minute video to show their overseas family.
Your wedding is unique and we would love to know what you imagine. Whether it is a luxury Anand Vihar banquet or a cosy farmhouse celebration, our WhatsApp is always on. Drop us a line any time with your date, and we’ll get back to you personally.
