In Indirapuram, some mornings start with an odd silence. When we get to Vaibhav Khand at dawn, the groom's baraat's headlights cut through a thick layer of Delhi winter fog, the same kind that obscures Kala Patthar Road and nearly engulfs the horse and dhol. Tired parents drinking chai in the car, cousins mending dupattas at the gate in the light of a tall building. Ahinsa Khand 2 is packed with parked cars and autorickshaws as the dhol beats begin. Our work is grounded by these small, genuine moments, such as the traffic jam, the haze, and the hurried makeup at the beauty salon close to Shipra Suncity. The scene is exactly as it seems when we whisper through it ("60 more seconds of lipstick," "No, don't move, here comes the horse"). Mornings in Indirapuram. Premium apartments like ATS Advantage and Saya Gold Avenue are scattered throughout the rustic bustle under an orange sunrise that no filter can replicate. This is not a pamphlet; every sentence is based on personal experience. We are aware of how busy and joyous this township is. Saying "yes" on WhatsApp is informal, friendly, and genuine, much like meeting the family of an old friend. We don't consider ourselves "dreamy" or "magical," but we can tell we're going to get an incredible silhouette shot when we see the first cloud of smoke from Baraat's cool pyro at Bloom Banquets (Vaibhav Khand). Ask us about handling a six-hour delay on the way from Raj Nagar Extension; no big deal, we've done it. We're not here to sell you a story; instead, we're here to tell yours with local care and years of experience. Let's discuss your schedule over WhatsApp when you're ready.
Wedding Photography: You’ll feel like we’re invisible with cameras. And from dawn to last dance, we are part of celebrations at the Grand Palace or a Shakti Khand banquet, discreetly catching each grin and tear. We arrive with a plethora of cameras, plus flashes at the ready for when the baraat slams against metal shutters. In case the baraat gets delayed (say half an hour on Shipra Suncity Road), we can change tack: capture the bride’s quiet ritual of fixing the mangalsutra. Sometimes our team divides into three: one photographer with the bride (often making her laugh by mimicking her aunties during mehndi), one with the groom (perhaps soothing his headache with water after joshing dhol wallahs), and the third capturing family reactions. We make sure you don’t miss a moment—from the traditional milni hugs to diya blowing after vidaai.
Cinematic Wedding Films We film more like documentary filmmakers than the typical camera-lugging drones. For example, at The Event Palace, we once started shooting a bride coming down its sweeping ramp at dusk, all in golden ambient light. Our cameraman had smuggled in a mirror for the bride so that when she turned to look at her paaji, he caught her reflection and the real face in the same frame. At another Sikh wedding in Rosellia, when the barat arrived, we hung back and let the crowd surge forward. Our drone (where allowed) and wide-angle lens gave us a fish-eye view of the entire procession piling into the hall. We often switch on tiny interview microphones to catch the parents’ casual blessings (the line “Beta, tujhe Pyar milega” rarely makes it into the ceremony, but we catch it). We want to make a short film that feels like that day, not a made-up montage. Morning chai, laughter, intermittent speeches, and the final Lagna Mangalam.
Pre-Wedding Shoots: A casual date with the cameras. We are familiar with the secret spots like the back of our hand: a bougainvillea alley near Vasundhara City Mall, the peaceful koi ponds at Eco Park or the mural walls of Shipra Mall. We took a couple to the community park of Raj Nagar Extension in the crack of dawn, when the grass was still wet with dew, for fun portraits on a wooden foot bridge. Another time, the day before a wedding at Gaur City, we took them to one of our favorite unmarked lakeside spots near the Hindon River and shot with fog machines (to go with the familiar Delhi mist theme). We also prefer The Shooting Village, Picture Destination, Photo Paradise or The Picture Town in Delhi for the pre-wedding shoots. The atmosphere is always relaxed, we laugh and come up with silly games (like who can balance an ice cream cone on their nose) so your smiles are from you, not from pressure.
Bridal Portraits: Early morning in your suite or bungalow, in a softly lit room with a chai kettle in the corner. We're not going to force you into pose after pose, but we might just pop in when you least expect it, capturing the bride laughing mid-bite of a slice of toast that got stuck in her hairpins. In Congress Villa or a Mahagun suite, it is the details that we focus on: the emerald set, the meenakari chura, and the tiny bandanwar. Once we shot a bride walking to her makeup in Aravalli Banquet and captured her eyes with the camera when she saw her glitter for the first time. Her expression was natural, and we have seen similar only in candid stories.
Destination Weddings: West of Ghaziabad or outside India, we have you covered. We scout the light before we pack, say, how the monsoon sun hits the courtyards of Jaipur Fort, and network with local crews, and find out if there’s a Bihar bandh that might delay the equipment trucks (true story). We hid our cameras as umbrellas on a beach wedding in Goa so as to not scare passing families. We learned a few local customs beforehand for a Himachali temple wedding so as not to accidentally disrespect anything. We blended into the local culture so well, one couple from abroad said they half suspected their relatives were on our team (we took that as a huge compliment). Our pledge: The Upasna Studio Photography Team is your home wherever you reside.
Rosellia or Metro Mela, and the stage is awash with bright reds and fuchsias. The groom is doing aartis with sparklers in Gyan Khand Society Club, and the baraat's dhol sticks are echoing at Judges Enclave. The girls giggle, and we are there to catch it, carefully adjusting the turbans of the elder cousins. At the pheras, in a mandap, Aunty tugging at her nose ring or downing lassi is as much on our radar as the couple’s rings are. In any of the Vaibhav Khand farms, the Mehndi night is a bhangra party. We are in the middle, catching the bride’s heels pattering and her side-twins showing off henna art.
These are the peaceful mornings in Ahinsa and Shakti Khands. The morning Shagun distribution is soft – kids running around the courtyard, and any Band BG loses the dhol to tabla gharanas. Even the bride’s kalgi (turban ornament) is set with as much care as her gold chooda, often by uncles who are rarely at weddings. The rhythm of the Langar (feast) in the Gurudwara hall is its own: aprons on, families queued, and at the last of the prasad we slip out a side door to take the couple’s quiet Ahinsa Khand garden portraits—damp flowers and all.
Floral canopy. The normal midday fairies. During the Rajouri garland exchange at the CWP Banquet or Palatum Hall, the groom's 'Maang Tikka' might slip if it’s a humid July—we gently stop to re-affix it and keep shooting. Just like the Sindoor on a forehead, each Diya, Akshat, and Aarti smear is given a close-up. We learned from the QueenSwood-style wedding in Raj Nagar that families sometimes have a friendly tug-of-war for a footstep, which was gold for our candid shots (two moms on either side, laughing). We drag shy relatives (usually a more subdued generation in Niti or Nyay Khands) out from behind food stalls for a quick smile and always manage to capture the groom’s mother pretending not to cry at “phire apne de naal."
These are colorful but smaller. Imagine an Indirapuram temple ‘satva’ function with a bright maroon and gold silk-saree bride and mango leaves strung all around. The Kanjeevaram ladies ask us to taste filter coffee off-screen. Mundus-clad grooms wait outside a mandap in the garden of Shakti Khand. We also respect the rituals completely (not interrupting Kashi Yatra or Jeelakarra Bellam), but after that we sneak in a quick photo of the bride doing the coconut-breaking ritual at a marble threshold. That texture, that face of concentration—it's priceless. Carnatic tunes play softly in the background, and our team often adds in a gentle tambura drone so that the couple can ease into each step.
NRI weddings have a different kind of emotion, families meet after ages, traditions meet the modern way of celebrating and every moment is larger than life! We document these weddings in a cinematic, storytelling, authentic and very intimate manner. From emotional airport arrivals to a grand baraat or an intimate family moment, we capture the feelings behind every celebration in our photography and films. No contrived poses, no staged drama, just real memories captured beautifully across cultures, rituals and generations.
Grand Palace, Indirapuram: Very grand hall right on the expressway, tall chandelier and curved stairs. The sunlight at 5pm through its tinted windows bathes the ballroom in gold, so sometimes we ask couples to do a quick twirl next to the ballroom’s pillars and then dash outside for a shot in the pool water up front. The deep red carpet and amber stage lights can cause a warm glow, so we shoot wide or stack a balanced flash for cleaner whites. One tricky thing: the front entrance can turn into a flood of late bridesmaids unloading makeup kits; we usually step aside and just quietly shoot the chaos.
Event Palace, Indirapuram: This hall has long entrances and murals of modern art. Best side is the polished marble lounge where we once saw a groom practice dandiya behind the bar, a perfect candid memory. The stage is often filled with crazy LEDs so when the DJ went full rainbow one night we kept most group shots to the perimeter where the LEDs couldn't blind our sensor. The rooftop terrace is perfect for post-wedding photos – it has pea-green plants and a view of the Ahinsa Khand skyline. We convinced a couple to sneak in for just 5 minutes before dinner (when everyone else was distracted by a group dance) and got their silhouette under the louvered canopy.
Hotel Parktel: Smaller banquet of a boutique hotel on Vaibhav Khand Road. We love the quirky details like a spiral staircase around an elevator shaft and a vintage mirror bank at the reception. Then the elevators stopped (wedding fatigue) so we lugged our outfits up the stairs ourselves. Sometimes we shoot the baraat horses in the wedding plaza just outside, under the antique street lamps, like something out of an old Hindi film. Inside, Parktel’s mirrored wall can double reflections, so we’ve caught a double father wiping away tears, which blew up nicely.
Satyam Farmhouse & Party Lawn Huge green lawn on outskirts. We treat it like a mini-amphitheatre—wedding vows on a lotus pond stage, while guests line up under banyans. In summer we beat the dry late afternoon heat by shooting couples by the fountain of the lake as the sun gets late. Induction rang “electricity grid flip” and we know the dancefloor has power backup flicker. Quick check of shutter speed saved an entire Shaadi ceremony on video here. This orange glow at dusk makes the garden look dreamy, so here’s one trick: we often use colored gels on our flashes to match the fairy lights.
Panchwati Farms A royal red and gold mansion façade. 'The staircases with their decorative banisters are the highlight for couples. We posed a bride in glass slippers on each step once for a Cinderella vibe. The open terrace has a mini-fountain. Great for family shots with the city lights behind (on one January wedding, the breeze was so chilling, we put a shawl on Mom and snapped one shot of her laughing at the flapping tassels). Inside, if DJ sound seeps from the ballroom, we slip to Panchwati’s small garden and shoot guests under mango trees. They have a forklift showpiece (where we perched photographers for aerial dance floor crowd coverage) which is a lot of fun.
Royal Park Hotels & Resorts, Indirapuram Luxury, high ceiling banquet halls. Signature of the lobby: tall vase of orchids at the door. "Sometimes after mehndi we put the bride next to it to calm her nerves. We always go to the terrace view of the Hindon River for the ring shots or couple portraits during sunset. One couple wanted to catch a plane watch from there. Spacious rooms; we remind families not to get ready all at once (“even five people at a mirror is cramped,” we smile). The ballroom has backlit panels that can look weirdly green at dusk, so we generally switch off the indoor lights and use the window light from behind, which made a Vadapalani night wedding look like a Hollywood movie shot of flowing sarees.
Yojna The Party Lawn Out on Indirapuram Road, Basically in the country side. This is really out of doors; a great flat lawn, and the sky above it open. Here, we use drones for aerial baraat shots (if allowed by the local police) or do that fun twirl thing where the groom dips the bride amid sun flare. The sunset timing is golden early; one night, planning our exit shot, we told the band to cue “Gallan Goodiyaan” and got the bride swinging on the jhoola frame with her lehenga flying as the sky turned fuchsia. The only downside is Delhi fog can come in here fast (we had to redo a couple's portrait the next morning with a fog machine because the wedding day turned literally misty).
The Royal Events & Banquets, Shakti Khand: A large hall in Shakti Khand 2, busy on weekends. In its foyer is a chandelier fountain that has been known to spurt water on a passing guest (we missed catching that, but moral: always watch the fountain!). The balcony that overlooks the stage is gold at sunset, perfect for portraits; one year a bride and groom slipped out there between rounds of pheras for a quiet hug we captured from below. The problem: When all 500 guests arrive, it’s chaos. We learned the hard way about stacking memory cards early (the first time was halfway through a dance at a Raj Nagar drum circle). Now we have a backup rig in the cafe if necessary.
Every place is different, and we change the lighting, the angles, even how we talk to the staff. If there are restrictions (some parks or near airports) we tell the couple beforehand and plan those 'floating far-away' shots from the roof or a neighbouring car-park instead. We're not bragging when we say that it's precisely because of all those first-hand runs (and flubs) that we can tell you where the best quiet corner or dramatic frame will be.
What is the best time to hire an Indirapuram wedding photographer? We recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance. There is a lot of demand for high end photographers here, especially for Punjabi or multi-day weddings. We’ll put you on the books and have a short planning conversation. It’s best to get in touch with us as soon as you know where and when.
Looking for wedding coverage in Vaibhav Khand, Shipra Suncity and ATS Advantage ? All right. “We shoot very often in all the areas of Vasundhara and Indirapuram. We know Vaibhav Khand baraats and Shipra Suncity clubhouse ceremonies very well.
Are there candid wedding photos available in Indirapuram? "Of course. And it’s our style so most of what we do is honest. We concentrate on genuine feelings instead of forced poses.
How do you handle DJ lights and low-light wedding venues? We bring fast lenses and extra lighting. We'll bump the ISO and add discreet LED panels in low light areas like Heartbeats in Sector 16. "We may have to go manual settings or have a backup flash ready in case the DJ's laser lights flash. We change the lighting to "Venus Yellow" or "Neon Pink" so that the skin tones look "normal". We’ve got used to them;
What are the best months for outdoor wedding photography in Delhi NCR? Light clear, we like January-February and October-November. December mornings can be foggy but there can be good fog creatively. April, October - evenings of golden glow. But in reality every season has its own charm, for example a smoggy winter, or a hazy monsoon has its own mood. It's ok, we'll keep track of time.
Can you do the wedding functions, mehndi & haldi separately? Yes. We can shoot any mix of events that you want.” We cover all the functions completely. We get many couples booking us through Vidai for separate 2-3 day packages for mehndi. It lets us tell the whole story without rushing.
We planning for destination wedding from Indirapuram? All right. “We are open to go anywhere, a beach in Goa or a fort on a hill in Rajasthan. We do destination weddings, like "on-demand wedding photography," where we take down all our gear and make the needed adjustments. More days are planned, travel is planned.
How many photographers are usually in your team? Depends on the package and the number of guests. For a typical Punjabi wedding of over 300 guests we send 2-3 shooters and 2 videographers. For smaller more intimate weddings you may only require one photographer and one assistant. Knowing the size of your event allows us to advise the ideal team size.
Do you also do cinematic wedding films? We certainly have a dedicated film crew. Our films are same day mini-movies and stills are moments of emotion. We record conversation, sound and motion (fog of entry, jaimala handshake). So if you want you can have both stills and a highlight film or the entire ceremony on video if you need.
Are we getting the full ceremony on video or just the highlights? Yes. We give you both. You will also get a short highlight film (usually between 5 and 7 minutes) which summarizes the main points of the day. You will also get the full ceremony videos (like all pheras, baraat ceremony, speeches etc.) in raw or edited form as separate files.
When is the best time for the couple portraits? Any suggestions? Yes, it depends on the location. The golden hour is usually the gentlest part of the evening light. If you’re short on time, ask us to include ‘golden escape’ breaks. For instance, one photographer might book you at 5 p.m. on the dot and the other might keep the family busy with a buffet. By the year-end, it is frosted and the patches of natural light in the Gaur City zone are glowing by 4.30 pm. They do red uplights on Satyam or Vansh’s open lawns, after the Jaimala when the sky blushes. For dramatic dim-light portraits in indoor palaces, we like to shoot 30 minutes after the baraat is over and the hall is empty. We'll figure out the timing together so it feels natural and not forced.
Thank you for reading till here. We like to keep it simple because weddings can be scary. If any of this sounds like you, or if you just want to see a few more sample photos from our latest shoot, please contact us. We are happy to answer questions, by phone or voice message on WhatsApp. So feel free to send us a casual WhatsApp message. Tell us one thing about your wedding and we'll show you some pictures or advice.Open communication, no hard sell.
