Your wedding day coverage will feel like having friends capture every moment. We are there from the first excited shawl adjustment to the last tearful vidaai. Instead of constantly posing you, we move around the room gently. When the DJ kicks on for the first dance, we’re likely on the dance floor with the videographer, filming from short distance as you two sway. When grandma wipes a tear, our cameras are angled to catch her reflection in the stage mirrors, not glaring our flash in her face. The typical wedding photography package includes two photographers who split up when needed (for example, one at the barat entrance and one with the bride during jaimala). You’ll see us in every key ceremony and candid corner: pinning on the groom’s turban, adjusting the bride’s lehenga train, guests whooping behind the camera. Afterward, we carefully select the images and edit them into a tight gallery and album. (Couples love that we send a small preview gallery within a week, then the full edited set in a few weeks.)

Our cinematic wedding films are not an afterthought, but woven into the day. We ask early on about any special song you love or a poem you’ll recite, and then craft short films that highlight them. You’ll often get two films: a brief 5–8 minute highlight video capturing the essence of each event (the emotional peaks, the dance floor highs), and a longer documentary-style film (20–45 minutes) that follows your day. The tone is always yours – if you prefer laughter and fun, we’ll pepper in giggles; if you want a classical feel, we’ll use gentle music. Either way, we keep them real. We might shoot scenic B-roll (like the couple walking through Lodhi Road), but we focus on authenticity.

For destination weddings (even like Jaipur or Goa), our process stays consistent. We travel with extra equipment: battery packs, backup lenses, plenty of memory cards. One of us always carries a small kit of lights in case Indian venues run out of power. We handle travel logistics, too – shooting at 12,000 ft in Rajasthan is no different than shooting in a Delhi banquet hall in terms of preparation. We’ve adapted to time zone jumps and local weather. Venue Experience

Myst by The Zora (Lodhi Road)

This brand-new convention center on Lodhi Road is like a photographer’s playground. A 2024 WedMeGood listing notes its 1500-seat indoor ballroom and an outdoor lawn for 2000 guests. We love the soaring white lobby and the giant chandeliers inside – at one evening reception, the golden light from the chandeliers cast dramatic shadows on the dance floor as the groom burst into Bhangra. The architecture truly feels like a world of its own, so for couple portraits we’ll step outside into the adjacent gardens before sunset, or use the polished marble corridor early in the morning (when it’s empty) for a high-contrast black-and-white shot. The Zora’s stage is huge, with high ceilings and trusses of lights; the only challenge is that in the evening we sometimes need very high ISO to freeze the baraatis’ dhol beats without blur. For entrance shots, the wide front steps and glass doors let us capture a grand arrival. We usually schedule a quick portrait walk just as the ceremony ends – the pergola courtyard out back catches a soft glow at dusk, and with 2.5 acres, the couple can wander amid lush landscaping away from the crowd for romantic shots.

The Oberoi, New Delhi (Golf Links)

The Oberoi is a classic oasis tucked near Golf Links. It feels a world away from Delhi traffic. We’ve shot weddings in its elegant Nilgiri and Aravalli halls (holding 50–350 people) and in the private rose garden. One winter we photographed a sunrise Baraat with marigold petals at the entrance courtyard: the pink morning sky and hotel façade made a regal backdrop. Indoors, the chandeliers and marble never get old – we love the symmetry of the grand staircase for family group photos. The in-house ballroom holds a few hundred and the decor is polished neutral, so we have to be mindful of color balance under the mixed tungsten lights. During a Mehndi here, the stage spotlights once threatened to wash out the bride’s green chooda, so we lowered our shutter speed and let guests’ handheld lights add a warm flare in the background. Portrait timing at The Oberoi is key: guests often lounge by the reflecting pool at twilight, so we sneak in a few romantic frames against the illuminated fountain. One practical note: the approach to The Oberoi is through the hotel driveway (and a floral driveway arch), which makes a lovely entrance-shot but demands coordination with valet. We stay in close touch with the event coordinator so the bride can arrive unhurried and we’re waiting with cameras from the curbside.

Habitat World, IHC (Lodhi Road)

Habitat World (the India Habitat Centre’s banquet halls) is iconic to Lodhi Road weddings. It has a large hall (1000 seats) and a “Hub” hall (1500 seats), plus a landscaped central courtyard. We once shot a baraat bursting into the Hub through the big wooden doors – the afternoon light outside and the fluorescent lights inside created a split-tone effect that was dynamic but tricky. For portraits, the tiled central courtyard (with its steps and fountains) is a favorite: late afternoon sun filters through trees, and couples love the sound of tapping fountain water in the background. Stage lighting in Habitat World tends to be bright white with strong shadows, so at a recent reception we set up an off-camera flash in the lobby corners to balance the light on the couple’s faces. Parking is ample (around 400 cars), but cars can block narrow paths, so we travel light – usually just two bodies and one kit bag – to weave quickly between events. If power dips for outdoor functions, the venue has backup gensets; still, we keep a small backup flash on hand in case the DJ lights blink off unexpectedly. We find that avoiding the harsh noon sun at Habitat means shooting ceremonies or portraits in the morning or as the sun sets behind the trees.

The Lodhi Hotel (Lodhi Road)

The Lodhi is a luxury boutique hotel on Lodhi Road’s CGO Complex. WedMeGood praises it for “hosting the city’s most grand weddings” with halls that accommodate up to 500 guests. We adore its intimate poolside terrace and English-cottage gardens. In one famous portrait session, the bride and groom danced barefoot on the morning-sunlit lawn at dawn, and the images had the warm glow of a painting. Indoors, the Wooden Lounge and Jaipur Hall are beautifully wood-paneled – during a reception we used the hallway’s ambient lamplight and the bride’s flowy lehenga for a moody shot. The hotel’s architecture bridges rich Indian history and modern design, so we mix portrait styles: a formal pose under the cantilevered wooden stair or a candid by the carved marble fireplace. The Lodhi’s staff recently renovated many suites; sometimes we’ll capture the bridal dressing shot in a suite’s private plunge-pool balcony (a request one calm morning). One quirk here: the cocktail lounge has tinted windows, which makes the sunsets neon in photos; we adjust white balance or shoot silhouettes against the sky. Overall, The Lodhi has both high ceilings and cozy nooks – we roam the property to find the light, whether it’s soft morning through trees or a dusk shot by the outdoor fire pit.

Silver Oak Lawn (Lodhi Road)

For something more private, Silver Oak is an expansive villa-style lawn just off Lodhi Road. It sits on 2.5 acres with a full pool and 6-bedroom villa. The evening before one wedding, the haldi ceremony was held under the stars by the pool. We balanced the dark sky with pool lighting, making the yellow turmeric stand out vibrantly against the cool blue. The large open lawn (up to 500 guests) is dotted with trees, giving golden-hour portraits a natural frame of leaves. During a Sangeet, the DJ set was under a clear tent – the flashing lights looked great behind the couple’s silhouettes, so we played with slow shutters to capture light trails as family danced. Silver Oak’s private villa lets us get candid morning shots of the bride’s family preparing – we once captured the bride’s mom checking on her make-up through the villa’s antique mirror. The only challenge is the distance from city hotels: we keep extra gear charged in vans. But couples love it because it feels like a home celebration, and photographers can move freely – we sometimes stand on the pool deck to photograph the baraat horseback arrival, using the villa as a grand backdrop.

The Claridges (Lutyens’ Delhi)

Though a few minutes north of Lodhi Road in Lutyens’ Delhi, The Claridges deserves mention for upscale weddings in the area. This 1950s colonial-style hotel has poolside lawns and vintage ballrooms. We shot one Mehndi on the pool deck at golden hour – the pastel-painted fountain and palm trees gave a very soft, warm portrait. Indoors, the Viceregal Hall can hold 1500 people, and its grand mirrors gave one newlywed couple a regal portrait reflection (we lowered our angle to hide some stage clutter). Notably, The Claridges is within walking distance of India Gate and large embassies, so sometimes guests trickle out to Khan Market for street food between functions and we will quickly capture some colorful street portraits of the couple amidst market lights. The Claridges team has strict decor and music rules (in-house DJs only), so we often rely on portable light stands for videography – no problem, we’re used to subtle light kits. Stage crowds here can get dense (the columns help, but can block lines), so we typically position one photographer on the dance floor and another up on a stairwell to cover all angles without bumping into dancers.

Taj Mansingh, New Delhi (Prithviraj Road)

The historic Taj Mansingh stands near Lodhi Road in the heart of the city. It’s known for its lush gardens and elegant halls. A couple who married here praised “the stunning beauty of the property, with its beautiful gardens and elegant interiors”. We share that view. One breezy morning in spring, the baraat rode through an entrance arch covered in roses, and we caught a beam of sunlight breaking through clouds onto the steps. The wedding hall (Mansingh I) has a high ceiling chandelier and cream walls – on stage we often increase our ISO to keep the warm color and avoid blown highlights on saris. For portraits, the rose garden and Shalimar Lawn are unbeatable: when the roses were in bloom last year, we placed the couple between rose arches at dusk for a portrait that glowed as if lit from within. Indoors, The Taj’s banquet spaces and large mirrors give a classic look; after one reception we took a quick staircase shot with the newlyweds looking down, the lobby chandelier giving a halo behind them. It’s a bit busy traffic-wise, but the hotel valet is efficient; we park once and haul gear just a short distance to venues. As the Taj’s site promises “peerless hospitality”, their staff often ask us if we need water or a lift for gear – small comforts that help us stay focused on the moment.

India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC Main Lawn, Lodhi Road)

The IICC on Lodhi Road has a lovely green lawn and banquet hall. It’s a popular spot for social functions. The main outdoor lawn can hold about 500 people and is surrounded by trees and an amphitheater. During a garden mehandi here, we used the open sky as our ceiling: a handheld flash bounced off the white fringe of a canopy to beautifully light the couple against the green lawn. Even without full sun, the IICC lawn’s uniform grass is great for group shots – on wedding days we arrange family members in semi-circles (with the bride in front) so the depth of the lawn keeps everyone in focus. If events move inside the hall, the indoor ceiling is relatively low and domed; once, during a video shoot in a corner of the banquet hall, we opted for two small LED panels to mimic soft daylight from windows. The IICC is usually more budget-conscious, so we find ourselves doubling as coordinators: directing relatives for portraits or reminding the coordinator when a ceremony is delayed. But the reward is always in the authenticity of the moments – guests in kurta-pajamas under paper lanterns, children chasing each other between pillars, and elderly uncles giving impromptu toasts.

• What do your wedding photography packages include, and how much do you charge? We tailor packages to each wedding. Typically we include 8–12 hours of coverage (many Punjabi weddings last all day), two lead photographers, all final edited photos, and a highlight video. The price varies by events and extras (for example, adding a day or a second shooter). We’re honest about costs – any travel or overtime is discussed up front. Think of it more as a custom experience than a fixed menu.
• Our ceremony and reception are at different venues (like Husainabad and The Lodhi). Can you cover both locations? Absolutely. We often shuttle with weddings. We usually have two photographers: one stays at Venue A (to cover say, the jaimala), and one at Venue B (maybe capturing the groom’s baraat or the bridal prep). We just build the travel time into our schedule. Some couples ask if it costs extra – we just factor in the extra travel hour or two. Also, if your venues are far apart, we might add a second team member so no one rushes through important moments.
• When will we receive our photos and videos? Typically, you’ll get a preview of 50-100 photos via an online gallery within a week after the wedding. We then take about 2–3 weeks to finalize everything. The full edited photo gallery (often 500+ images) and your videos (highlight reel, full film) arrive in that time, usually via a private link. Many couples say the wait is worth it for our careful edits (skin tones balanced, lights fixed) and our timeline being consistent.
• What lighting equipment do you bring for low light situations? We carry a couple of portable flashes and continuous LED panels for tricky lighting. In well-lit daytime ceremonies we usually don’t use flash (to keep things natural). If your banquet hall has dim lighting (like some in Greater Kailash or Hauz Khas Venues), we’ll pop flash or bounce a light to fill shadows. For bridesmaids prep in rooms without good windows, we’ll set up a small soft LED to mimic daylight. We always carry extra batteries and even a small generator strip for powering lights if the venue’s backup fails. • When is the best time of year to get married in Delhi? We hear about fog and heat. The peak season is October through March – you get cool nights and mild days. Lodhi Road in January can be foggy in the morning; this softens the light but can make things extra chilly, so we suggest hot tea for everyone. By midday it usually clears. Weddings in April–June mean long daylight but hot afternoons (we recommend any outdoor ceremony be before 10 AM or after sunset in summer). Monsoon (July–Sept) is less common for Lodhi families, though if you do choose it, our advice is to be ready for indoor backup and enjoy the green scenery. In short: late autumn to early spring has the most comfortable weather and beautiful light; we always discuss your dates and give our seasonal advice.
• Our venue has rules (for example, some don’t allow flash photography or drones). Can you still work around that? Yes, we adapt. Some lodges on Lodhi Road (or embassy clubs) only allow in-house DJs or no flash. In those cases, we rely on continuous lighting we bring – LED panels or battery-powered spotlights – so the effect is seamless. Drones: most venues near Lodhi Colony or government areas do not allow drones due to security. We just rely on our wide-angle lenses instead. If we shoot a rooftop or open lawn, a drone can be great for a ‘big group’ shot, but we will always check and follow the venue’s policy first. If drones aren’t allowed, that’s fine – we capture aerial-like compositions with high balconies or terraces.
• Do you shoot video too, and how long is the wedding film? Yes, we provide both photography and cinematography. Our video team usually delivers a short highlight video (5–8 minutes) that’s great for social media, plus a longer edit (15–55 minutes) that tells the story of the day. If you want a full documentary edit, we can do that too (usually 40–60 minutes covering every ritual). The video style is cinematic but truthful – it’s more like a heartfelt montage than a scene from a blockbuster. For example, we’ll mix in the audio of your pheras with soft music, but we won’t add cheesy filters. Many couples mention they replay the highlight reel for guests who couldn’t attend.
• We’re both camera-shy. How do you help us feel at ease and look good? We start with simple poses and gentle prompts. • Can we request specific shots or give you a shot list? Absolutely. We encourage it. We usually meet or call a week before the wedding to cover any special requests and form a rough plan. That said, crowds and timing can disrupt even the best plans, so we stay adaptive. If an aunt interrupts a toast, our chance for a posed Jaimala photo might vanish; instead, we capture her clapping behind the couple. But don’t worry – important moments like the garland exchange or father giving away the bride are always priorities on our shot list.
• Have you shot at our venue before? Are you familiar with its layout and lighting? We’ve worked at most major Lodhi Road venues. For example, if your wedding is at The Lodhi, we know the best corridor for evening portraits (on its garden side) and that midday sun can wash out white interiors, so we plan for morning prep shots instead.
