As the sun rises high on a cold December morning in Vaishali, the sounds of baraat drums make their way through the fogged-up streets of Sector 4. Bridesmaids exit cars that have headlights on, as cousins in lehenga bling dance out of Centrestage Mall. The bride fixes her necklace as she looks into an elevating mirror, and her sisters are holding jalebi and chai in their hands. As afternoon comes around, the banquet halls of Indirapuram and Vaishali start to buzz: uncles discuss the best recipes for chaat dishes, and aunties are already dancing in the parking lots before the arrival of the groom. That’s what weddings in this culture are all about – real people getting ready for the ceremony. There’s no place without action: children playing on the scooters that they don’t own, the groom’s cousin checking the baraat route via Google Maps, the sound of Dhol drums in the fog as we enter with our cameras. We have been shooting in these lands for many years, so let’s get in touch over WhatsApp and discuss your story.
Wedding ceremonies in Vaishali are conducted keeping cultural aspects in mind. Baraat is such an event that can shake the whole Chander Nagar chowk with people dancing in a festive mood due to loud dhols that are played after midnight. In traditional weddings in Gyan Khand Gurdwara, ceremonies happen at sunrise while elderly people serve the food quietly as we click photos of the bride wearing a silk dress with jasmine flowers on her head. The Hindu "phera" wedding takes place in the evening, where the red-colored dupatta worn by the bride becomes bright under the fluorescent light of Vasundhara, arranged on the Orchid Farms grounds of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, and there might be peacocks also walking around the mandap. Non-resident Indian guests generally come on the previous day to join together with families before going for wedding functions in the farmhouse of Ramprastha Greens, which happens in the 100-acre gated society of Vaishali. Weddings in apartment societies of Sector 1 & Sector 9 are generally organized in small numbers, with the function taking place either in Vaishali Venus Club or Surya Nagar banquets.
Seasonal weather and local traffic find their way into each image: smog against the backdrop of Vasundhara during winters adds character to the sunrise photographs; monsoon rains chase us indoors as portrait shoots happen inside banquets under banquet balconies; and the summer rays sparkle on the glass front of Hollywood Dreams Banquet at the junction of Vaishali Metro. High-end banquets appear everywhere, be it the Ambrosia Palace (opposite Cloud Nine Towers, in Indirapuram) or the Sri Mahal Resort (with both halls and lawns) in Vasundhara; the clients are definitely expecting an element of luxury. But backstage, it's pandemonium: families gather at the food counters of Shipra Mall as we look for quieter corners to click bride and groom images, and the honking of taxis echoes across Vasundhara’s bustling Axis Mall avenue, where the bridesmaids finish up the last-minute touch-ups.
Weddings among the Punjabi community of Vaishali are an event: bright red and gold saris, dhol playing, and bhangra festivities. The jaimala typically takes place around noon beneath the chaadar of marigolds. We always take plenty of jaaggo pictures, that is, the pre-wedding processions illuminated by lanterns, on the rooftops where the young participants shower flower petals on each other. Bahu gets photographed with her nose ornament ('nath') put on by her mother, and the playful garland fight between sisters begins.
Most of the time, Hindu weddings at these places involve multihall weddings. For the puja of the bride, there are ancestor pictures placed on the wall and chilies & lime hanged from the doors (which we photograph). Later, for the pheras of the couples at the venues such as Sri Mahal and Ambrosia, we make sure that we time the ceremony when the sun is above the mandap. The moment we capture is the bridal stroke (alta) on the feet of the bride who touches the red carpet at each phera. Since uncles throw rice at pheras, we make sure that the photographers are ready for the action. Another situation we keep in mind is that of temple visits where the couple whispers to the Lakshmi statue near the temple lamp; we photograph them as a silhouette. As for the North Indian Hindu wedding photography, we keep in mind the color scheme used, which is usually bright mango yellow or hot magenta.
South Indian weddings in this region are rare but always grandiose. One will observe Kanjivarams, vintage gold jewelry, and mango leaves hanging above. Sometimes, there can be a baraat with its own dhol-walas who play Carnatic music. The white and gold saree of the bride contrasts well against the reddish color of temples’ walls in places like Madhuvan, which incorporates the Dravidian architectural style. Groom's arrival on a jeep is always a focal point, and we always try to capture the green background of the suburbs against the warm glow of the bride's face, which carries a beautiful smile when illuminated by the gelled flash. The Tamboolam and kainkaryam involve a lot of people; thus, whenever the pandit ji gives any item, we click. While taking portrait photos, we sometimes put a jasmine garland around the groom’s neck and take pictures from behind the flower to add festive bokeh.
NRIs come with the best of both worlds – perhaps a ceremony done in South Indian style in one hall while the reception takes place in another in Punjabi style. Their timings are very specific (They booked us via Skype a year back!). We highlight their juxtapositions through capturing them in their weddings: while they celebrate in temples at dawn with an ambient lighting setting up their ceremonies, they can move from that to exchanging invite cards at the Chandni Chowk arch. They have an affinity for places like Orchid Farms and Platinum Crown since they can create a destination feel through doing cocktails under the LED pond and hosting mehndi parties on rooftops.
Once you choose us, the day flows gracefully. We get started even before chaos strikes: perhaps at 6 AM outside a Punjabi Baraat, cold weather, the bride's breath visible as she zips herself into her pants. We work quietly, calming nervous parents with childhood stories that help their hands stop shaking. We socialize too – while sisters are fixing their make-up, we are there capturing every hug. No mere "directing": in one wedding in Indirapuram, when a cousin was teaching how to dance a particular move in the corridor, it became an instant portrait for us. Our photographs are spontaneous because as the events unfold, we capture moments without forcing you into postures – the only exception being the family shot on the terrace. In the midst of the varmala, we step aside to capture the expression of the groom and then come back to shoot the hug as the couple shakes off the petals. Our editing process will give you the real deal – nothing too fancy with excessive filters.
Behind the scenes, our film crew subtly becomes part of the wedding party. There is a camera running non-stop on documentary style – recording all the little details: a brother feeding ladoo to each other at midnight, the bride cleansing off the lipstick off the groom just before the cake-cutting ceremony. Our wedding is treated as any other film day: sandwiched between the sangeet and the receiving speech, we may need to change positions for better angles. Once, while filming the couple during a ceremony held at the banquet hall with lamps lit all around, we captured the couple exchanging flower garlands beneath a Chandelier and everyone gasped at the sight. The film clips we give you are in essence a story: an introductory clip of half a minute showcasing rings and sarees, followed by your best friend’s toast in voiceover with the sound of the dhol in the background, ending with the last dance sequence.
It feels great recommending places in and around Ghaziabad. For fun city pictures during sunrise, we would like to take you to Centrestage Mall. Otherwise, we can recommend Ramprastha Greens, where we have greenery all around along with fountains. It has been an entertaining date for many young couples. We ask you to do some funny poses like kicking each other or sharing a cup of coffee together to make you feel more relaxed to smile in front of the camera. Young couples who have already got married also do their pre-wedding photoshoots at the Ozone mall located in Indirapuram at the time of sunset. We prepare these pictures and create a short video from them.
These are the subtle moments that happen in a tucked away corner. On the day that the bride dresses up in her mehndi dress, we shall be somewhere else clicking her as her haldi designs set. And perhaps prior to her grand entrance, we can find a shiny marble wall or an ancient stairway (such as those in Orchid or Sri Mahal) to take the picture of the bride from the side as she adjusts her braids. We always do a lot of trial shoots so that she knows where to look. These pictures usually get printed as center spreads in album form—enlarged pictures of her kohled eyes or the fringes of her ghoonghat touching her forehead. This kind of treatment usually takes 20 pictures of the same position so as to make sure only one is perfectly done.
We travel for you. Whether it’s Jim Corbett, Jaipur, or any other Goa resort, our crew travels along with the couple. Our portfolio includes NRI weddings in temples in Mumbai, such as the sequence of the bride's, for example, lehenga blowing in the air at the resort. Behind the scenes, we plan everything beforehand – in one photo shoot in Gurgaon for the marriage of Vaishali, we met in a hotel locally to set up everything regarding lights. In Goa Beach, we photographed the entire Haldi ritual on a beach in the morning sun; in Mussoorie, we filmed a Sangeet ritual in a ruined castle. If traveling, we guide you regarding permits (flying drones in an airport area is not easy), and we pack our equipment accordingly.
We are based in Delhi and cater to nearby upscale locations. Our couples come from apartment communities like Ramprastha Greens (Sector 7–9 Vaishali), Global City Tower (Sector 4), Centrestage Mall nearby houses, or the skyscrapers of Indirapuram (Shipra Suncity, Ahinsa Khand, Vaibhav and Niti Khand). Our photo shoots take place at Banquet venues such as Ambrosia Palace (Sector 3F, Vaishali), Orchid Farms, situated along Vasundhara-Indirapuram Highway, and Vasundhara Sector 14/15’s recently laid lawns. From the corridors of the Kaushambi Jubilee Apartments to the fountain of Gaur City, our camera lens has captured the essence of these places. Whether it’s clicking romantic sunset moments at Nehru Nagar Club, we know our place. Individuals looking for an excellent “Vaishali wedding photographer” or “candid wedding photography in Vaishali” should rest assured knowing that our photographs include both luxurious Vasundhara hotels and countryside farmhouses situated close to Ghaziabad. To summarize, we offer services throughout Vaishali, Indirapuram, Kaushambi, Vasundhara, and surrounding sectors.
We are aware of the range of personalities in an Indian family, including those of grandfather who smiles gently and those of aunties who are camera-loving. We greet the family members individually using the language/dialect they speak, promising that there’s no rush. A timidly sitting relative at the Haldi is given a thumbs-up by the second shooter to help him/her feel relaxed while taking the photo. When it comes to boisterous uncles who would love to crowd out other people when taking photos, we politely handle this by making room for them.
WhatsApp communication is constant with us; sending a simple message an hour before entering the bride for a particular arrangement, to having the entire family chat on WhatsApp where you give them all the shots that should be captured on the day. On that very day, we move stealthily by wearing footwear that will not cause any noise.
Hollywood Dreams (Vaishali Metro Station) – From its prime location at Vaishali Metro, Hollywood Dreams lives up to its name. Inside the King Hall’s opulent expanse, we play with the 1,000 sq. ft. stage lights and towering chandeliers to frame sweeping couple portraits; evening fog pools near the entrance, lending drama to baraat entry shots. Multiple halls (King, Queen, Prince) mean we scout quiet corners – like the lobby’s mirror wall – when the foyer gets crowded with overlapping functions. Valet parking clears space for a fast first-look photo; outside, plenty of parking and a tree-lined parking lot allow for a spontaneous “fast lane” group shot as guests arrive. Watch for backlighting challenges under the stage lights: we often move portraits to the banquet’s side windows at sunset for warm, even light.
Ambrosia Palace, Vaishali – Opposite Cloud Nine Towers (in fact, brides often admire their reflection in those tower windows before entering Ambrosia), this hall is strictly vegetarian with in-house decor. Its spacious halls adapt well to electric lighting but can feel stark under late-afternoon sun – we rely on off-camera flash behind the mandap or next to floral columns. Indoors, the mirrored walls and polished floors mean bridal bangles and necklace-shot reflections everywhere, so we sometimes angle the bride against a solid drape background for her close-ups. The adjoining marble foyer frequently echoes with caller tunes as relatives arrange poses, so for portraits we might slip outside into the small lawn (at dusk) for calmer light. Tip: Ambrosia’s AC halls look best with a flash bounce off the fresco-style ceiling, to warm up the tissue floors.
Sri Mahal Resort, Vasundhara – With grand indoor halls and lawns by its pool, Sri Mahal feels like a mini-resort. Morning ceremonies on the lawn capture the groom framed by fountains; by sunset the backyard glow turns couple portraits gold. Indoors, the halls have high ceilings and comfortable daylight from chandelier gaps – shoot wide for family groups on the red carpet near the stage. Staircase shots work well here: couples can pose on the spiral staircase for a regal portrait, with the foyer chandelier gleaming above. If the schedule slips, the attached rooms and hallways become impromptu portrait studios – especially when cousins are less distracting in the suite corridor.
Rudrakshaa Banquet (Gaur Ganga 2, Sector 4, Vaishali) – A newer venue near Metro’s Gaur Ganga, Rudrakshaa feels crisp and modern. It has three halls (our third shooter can roam between them). For portraits, we often pop up to the balcony that overlooks the largest hall: shots from above catch the congregation below while keeping guests engaged. Indoors, Rudrakshaa’s polished interiors and long drapery suggest shooting the bride away from the stage lights to avoid harsh contrast. Outside, the front driveway makes a good spot for choreographing family rituals before everyone rushes in. Use that parking area for creative silhouettes as the sun dips.
Pearl Grand Banquet, Kaushambi – Set near Surajmal Vihar, Pearl Grand has multiple halls (King, Royal, Majestic) under one roof. It’s pure veg and in-house decor, so each hall’s color scheme can dominate photos; we look for the one with the softest lighting for portraits. We’ve learned to watch the pillars that slice down the halls – placing the bride just past a pillar can yield a natural frame. The foyer at Pearl Grand tends to get tight, so large group pics often move outdoors in front, weather permitting, where string lights twinkle. One quirk: in the late-evening reception slot, the AC can cause lens fog on DSLR — we step outside briefly to breathe and wipe lenses before resuming the shoot.
The King Hall of Hollywood Dreams Banquet in Vaishali (with its king-size stage) provides dramatic backdrops for couples – at night we position the newlyweds in the aisle light, a gold drapery halo forming behind them.
Orchid Farms (Indirapuram) – One of the few lush lawn venues nearby, Orchid has both an open garden and a large indoor hall. For a North Indian sangeet on the grass, we time the shoot for late afternoon so the sky pastels soften the guests. For rituals on the stage, the evening lights can be deep orange, so we bring gels on our flashes to balance warm tungsten. The green lawn opens up possibilities: we’ll sometimes do a “vardaat” style shoot with the entire family lined up on the grass behind the palki (groom’s seat) – an impromptu group portrait with trees above. The challenge: the lawns can become muddy in monsoon. We always keep a small umbrella to shield equipment and wait for a cloud break to use the garden swings (yes, Orchid has swing décor). Indoors at Orchid, circular chandeliers create natural lead-in lines; we walk the balcony path with the couple for intimate shots.
Wow Ceremonial Banquet (Ahinsa Khand 1, Indirapuram) – A bright indoor hall in Jaipuria Mall, Wow Banquets offers a single banquet space (up to 400 guests) with all-white walls. The nearly whitebox interior means natural light looks blue – so we add a bit of warm light for skin tones. Ceiling lighting can create harsh bands, so we often turn those off when shooting portraits of the couple under flower garlands, letting our flash give a soft glow. With in-house decor and DJ, the focus is on choreography: the bride’s entry down the red carpet, siblings dhoom-dance near the stage, etc. We leverage the available family prep rooms (three guest rooms on site) to grab candid portraits of the wedding party getting ready.
The Royal Events & Banquets, Indirapuram – Centrally located near Eros Mall, this hall is popular and well-reviewed for service. It has a grand pillar-lined entrance and ample parking. We usually capture the groom’s baraat entering through the driveway while the bride waits under an ornate canopy. Indoors, the decor is a mix of mirrors and wood paneling; for portraits we try to avoid direct reflections (a lipstick kiss can bounce flash back!). As couples often stay in the hotel rooms upstairs, one popular shot is the bride on the hotel balcony above the Banquet’s courtyard, with twinkling lights below. Payment with UPI is quick for vendors, which means timing is reliable – so little stress about deposit delays, unlike some older halls.
Rosellia Banquets & Suites, Vasundhara (Sector 11) – A luxury hall with 9 guest suites and two main halls (King and Queen), Rosellia feels intimate. Valet parking and landscaped grounds set a polished mood. The King Hall’s ivory-and-gold theme means we match outfits accordingly; guests in bright colors pop against its cream walls. Family portraits on the lawn (by the boutique entrance) are common, since the building’s facade has a hotel look. Indoors, portraits along the windows let in evening city light, with Vasundhara’s skyline faintly visible in deep focus. We sometimes find a quiet corner by the Rosellia lounge bar for couples’ cocktail-finish portraits.
White Rose Banquets, Vasundhara (Sector 18) – A newer “banquet & hotels” facility, White Rose has large halls and rooms for guests. The long foyer often doubles as a Mehndi shot location (colourful floor patterns). For weddings here, we’ve noticed the staff’s coordination – which means chairs are reset promptly between ceremonies. The banquet’s ceiling fixtures create a radial light pattern; for nice overheads we stand underneath holding the bride’s lehenga fan in circle. The adjoining hotel rooms (C-6, Madan Mohan Malviya Marg) allow for a sunrise bridal portrait by their bay windows, which we do before the bustle begins.
Vintage Banquet, Vasundhara (Sector 9) – With a capacity up to 300, Vintage feels cozier. Its lone hall is narrower, so for large families we may step outside under the marquees to fit everyone. The tall ceilings let us shoot group photos straight on without too much distortion. Vintage’s management permits baraats in the courtyard (but not full dj decks) – so we’ve caught the groom dancing next to parked cars under string lights. In practice, we remind the bride to watch her steps on the narrow outdoor ramps (high heels and small children).
MBV Luxury Banquet, Sahibabad (near Kaushambi Metro) – Technically just across the river, we include MBV for NRI clients wanting Delhi metro access. It has “luxury” in the name but a modest hall size, fitting about 200 guests. We find lots of seating in its lounge area by the gate – useful for extended portrait sessions when it rains. Kaushambi’s local pandits often ask us to use nearby Mandir steps for a custom puja photo, so we oblige.
Madhuvan Banquet & Lawn (Raj Nagar Extension) – A hidden gem since 2022, Madhuvan combines an outdoor lawn (up to 220) and hall (150) with 40 rooms. We love shooting sunrise bridal portraits by their lawn fountain or under big banyan trees. The kitchen here is run by ex-Red Carpet chefs, so the smell of tadka in the hall is as good as any scent memory. We use the versatile rooms: one overlooks the lawn for a quiet ‘bride waiting’ shot, another serves as a ready room for grooms. Because outside catering is permitted, couples often bring Punjabi caterers – meaning the buffet spread is ready earlier, freeing us to do a “first bite” photo before dinner.
Platinum Crown, Raj Nagar Extension – Among the oldest halls in Raj Nagar, Platinum Crown (since 2002) feels like an elegant banquet castle. It has brick accents and fountains outside, so we often stage the bride in a narrow columned corridor with roses overhead – a sort of in-house garden. Indoors, the high-arched hall calls for sweeping wide-angle shots; a small motorized camera rig is sometimes set up on its side balcony to capture 360° dancing. Notably, there’s a calm zen garden on the rooftop – a rare find. On certain mornings, we hike up there for a serene portrait of the couple away from the music.

"Best South Indian Wedding Photographer"
First Of All "Upasna Studio" Has Done A Fantastic Job!! I Was Skeptical About Hiring Them Because South Indian Weddings Were Not Their Forte.
But Jatin Ji Asked Me To Have Belief In His Team.
He Has Done A Great Job With The Pictures, Covering Every Ceremony, Capturing Every Moment.
I Am Very Happy That I Went To Upasna Studio. Thank You So Much.... Kudos!!!
Fantabulous Work By Upasana Studio...
Jatin Kumar Really Have True Talent To Capture Beautiful Memories!!!....
Strongly Recommended & Worth Hiring!!
