Each wedding has its own rhythm. Some celebrations are memorable because they are so big. Others are memorable because of the people, the emotion and the little moments shared throughout the day. Saumya and Rohit’s wedding was one of those rare occasions where every smile was genuine, every look was meaningful and every photograph was a natural chapter in their story.

At Upasna Studio Photography , we believe wedding photography is more than simply capturing events but capturing emotions. A wedding should be recorded as it happens – full of laughter, anticipation, love and warmth of family. This belief is perfectly captured in the wedding of Saumya and Rohit.

From the serene portrait shots taken outdoors long before the celebrations begin, to the fun and excitement of the Baraat processions, every photograph is a celebration of companionship, trust, tradition and happiness. The wedding photography process was a natural one, as the photographers did not tell us what kind of pose should be taken but instead captured spontaneous moments.

It started off with a softer tone, through tree-lined roads and natural lighting. Saumya and Rohit walked hand in hand. They talked, they laughed. They smiled and had some lovely un-rushed moments before the celebrations started. It turns out these spontaneous moments are the most precious frames of the gallery. Laughter, comfort in hand, romantic glances - these were the moments when one forgot all about cameras.

Saumya’s pink embroidered lehenga, green dupatta, jewellery, mehendi and kaleere added to the beauty of the entire atmosphere. Her cream-coloured turban and emerald green beads looked good on Rohit’s white sherwani. The whole combination was a good choice of colours that was pretty pleasing to the eyes.

This is a wedding story of balance: refined portraiture and raw energy, personal details and grand gestures, serenity and celebration. There is more to it than just a pretty picture book. It’s a visual reminder of two people walking into the next chapter of their lives, in the company of the people and traditions they love.

A Beautiful Beginning Before the Ceremony

The best photographs from weddings are always taken prior to the event itself. Music and dancing would happen later, but for now, Saumya and Rohit were left to have their own space amidst nature’s sounds. The softness of the pathway, the lighting from the leaves, and the surroundings gave them that cinematic feeling.

“They were encouraged to walk, talk, and be with each other rather than perform for the camera. It was apparent in the photographs how comfortable they were, which is natural. No need to create the moment because that was already present in the way they gazed at each other.”

The bridal look of Saumya was classic but soft and contemporary. She wore her blush-pink lehenga with detailed embroidery and pastel colors giving it a glowing appearance and the mint green dupatta complemented her look by adding a fresh element. The jewelry, bangles, maang tikka, nose rings and kaleere which Saumya wore weren’t only accessories but some elements of beauty that were clicked for a memory that will last forever in her life.

Rohit’s wedding outfit was a combination of tradition and subtle luxury. His heavily embroidered ivory sherwani, cream-colored turban and emerald green bead necklaces were the main elements of his outfit. He wore all of these but before wearing them, both the sherwani and his embroidered shoes and necklace were clicked in the natural surroundings. These shots have the essence of anticipation, detailing and decision-making that can easily go unnoticed amidst celebrations.

Their wedding journey together moved in a natural flow between stillness and activity. It allowed for meaningful preparations, loving family time and the joyful release of the baraat. Each part of the day had its own visual language but the story never lost its centre: the easy, genuine connection between Saumya and Rohit.

It was that belief that formed the centre of Saumya and Rohit’s portraits: elegant compositions made around natural emotion, not emotion forced into a composition.

These two made their pictures rhythmic, moving under the trees hand in hand, with gentle smiles on their faces. The soft blurring of the background helped to concentrate only on their facial expressions; and the calm surrounding was captured as it was. With Saumya in her blush pink attire and Rohit in his ivory sherwani, amidst greenery, it was an exquisite colour scheme.

The photos switch from the cinematic wide shots to close-ups. One such photo shows that the trees are huge enough to signify their relationship as a permanent inter-relation. In another one, a tiny element of Saumya’s Mehendi or jewelry or kaleere reminds one of that great day. The gallery thus captures the emotion as well as the relation behind it.

Groom preparations provided yet another chapter. The excitement, which hangs in the fringes of a wedding day is clearly visible in Rohit’s sherwani hanging from the branches, embroidered shoes kept beside the emerald necklace, and the still portraits shot prior to him joining in the celebrations. Once he got dressed, he was all grace and poise, the turban, embroidered sherwani, and green beads giving a royal touch to his portraits.

Every Indian wedding has that magical moment when anticipation turns into celebration. That moment arrived for Saumya and Rohit’s wedding, with the groom’s spectacular baraat: a joyous, modern take on timeless tradition. It was not just an arrival to the venue, but the start of a new chapter shared through music, laughter and the energy of family and friends.

One of the most important aspects of the day was Rohit’s entry. He did not enter in the same way as other people do in a horse carriage; he came in the beautiful red convertible. His family members and close relatives were dancing around him and each raise of hands, smile, and laugh added something to the story that we were trying to capture through cameras.
