For me, photography is not merely a profession—it is a refined expression of art, emotion, and legacy. My journey began at an early stage in life, driven by a natural curiosity to observe and document the world around me. Over time, this curiosity evolved into a distinctive visual language—one that blends artistic sensitivity with cinematic storytelling. As an avid traveler, I draw inspiration from diverse cultures, human connections, and the subtle beauty found in everyday moments. This perspective, combined with my fine-arts background, allows me to create imagery that is both visually striking and emotionally profound. My work is rooted in authenticity. I do not believe in staging moments—instead, I focus on capturing them as they naturally unfold. Every frame I create is thoughtfully composed to reflect not just how a moment looked, but how it truly felt. Beyond photography, my creative passion extends into music and post-production, where I carefully refine each image and film to achieve a seamless, cinematic finish. The result is a body of work that feels timeless, elegant, and emotionally immersive.
I BELIEVE THAT EXCEPTIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY IS NOT DRIVEN BY TRENDS OR TECHNIQUES ALONE, BUT BY INTENTION, EMOTION, AND PERSPECTIVE.
“True photography is not about perfection—it is about presence. When your heart and mind are aligned with the moment, the image naturally becomes powerful.”

Jatin’s journey in photography began as a family inheritance. His grandfather first discovered the magic of the camera, passing it to his father, the late Shri Anil Kumar. In 2001 Anil transformed this tradition into Upasna Studio Photography as a wedding gift rooted in love. Young Jatin spent his childhood in that studio, wide-eyed, playing among cameras and wedding albums. Watching his father capture the joy of couples – the tears, laughter and long embraces – kindled Jatin’s own curiosity. He quickly realized that photography was not just a technical craft, but a way to freeze genuine emotion forever.
What started as an obsession in childhood has quickly become a consuming passion. Jatin picked up the art of lighting and candid angles standing beside his father. He knew the timing of the ceremony, and the expressions that could be anticipated; the smile of a bride, the proud tear of a father. There was no doubt where his heart belonged when he picked up the camera by himself.
Upasna Studio Photography grew along with Jatin. He carried on his father’s legacy, nurturing the brand with the same passionate devotion. Jatin infused Upasna with a contemporary, luxurious feel, drawing inspiration from Anil’s original vision. The advent of cinematic films and large-scale travel shoots, merging fine-art aesthetics with the inviting authenticity that kicked it all off. Every milestone has become part of Upasna’s growing story, from grand weddings at the palaces of Delhi to destination weddings in Rajasthan and Goa.
Today, Jatin carries forward that fifth-generation heritage with pride. He still thinks of photography as a wedding gift – one he now gives to every couple he meets. His journey from a curious boy in Mayur Vihar to a leading photographer mirrors the transformation of Upasna Studio Photography itself: always growing, always heartfelt. Each image he creates echoes his personal story – one of family tradition, of turning curiosity into mastery, and of a lifelong quest to capture the beauty in real love.
Jatin’s passion and purpose meet at weddings. He chooses weddings, because every wedding is a rich tapestry of human emotion – the nervous excitement of the groom, the joyful tears of the bride, the exuberant dancing of family. It is those spontaneous, genuine, intimate moments in life which inspire his creativity. He is often heard to say, “I show how it feels, not how it looks.” In other words, he seeks soul behind the pictures.
Jatin loves weddings for the opportunity to see real intimacy. He takes inspiration from small acts of love like the mother brushing her daughter’s veil, the private smile between the bride and groom behind the mandap, or even the nephew tugging his uncle’s tie. These are real things that cannot be staged. They happen in an impromptu way and Jatin’s camera catches these candid moments of his. “These genuine moments are far more beautiful than the most perfect poses,” says Jatin. Says he: “A photo doesn’t have to be perfect, it has to have heart. He gets validated when he can make people laugh or cry through his photography.
What Jatin loves most is a real connection. He hopes that his images will always be a reminder to couples of how they felt in those small moments – the love, the warmth, the excitement. That’s why he likes real moments over staged scenes. Inspired by light, tradition & the uniqueness of every love story. Jatin finds inspiration in people and their interactions, from the vibrant South Indian celebrations to the peaceful North Indian pheras. His passion is simple and that is he believes weddings are supposed to be as heartfelt and unforgettable as the day itself.
